On Wednesday, April 5, the St. Pius Parish Council had its regular meeting. The full minutes will soon be available on the bulletin board in the Parish Hall and on our website. The following are highlights of the meeting.
—New Lighting Project: The Council unanimously voted to replace the existing fluorescent lighting in the Church with new decorative pendant lights. These lights will give off the same amount of light but will enhance the beauty of the worship space. The flood lights in the front of the Church will be replaced by new high intensity track lighting and the three fans and lights in the center of the Church will be replaced with three new fans. The cost of the entire project will be about $23,000. Money to pay for the new lights will be taken out of savings and parishioners and visitors will also be invited to donate to the project through a special collection.
–Parking Lot Repair: The Council is still looking for someone to do crack and sealing and restriping the parking lot. Because the project is so small, it is difficult to find a company willing to do the work.
